| One of many nights at Phoenix Pub! |
I’ve been in Spain for three weeks now, coming up on a month. When I realized that today, my first thought was how pathetic it is that I’ve only written one blog post. But next, I realized that after only three weeks, how different the city is to me. The places that first served as landmarks to get me from one place to the next are now so much more than that; they are the restaurant with the incredible goats cheese and honey tapas, where I first got to know Phoebe, Dru and Emily, and the churro stand which was somehow closed every time we tried to get a churro until just last night, and it was definitely worth the wait. They are the restaurant with an English menu the size of a chalkboard (only slightly embarrassing), the bench perfect for people watching where little kids like to wave and say hello, and the bar by the river where everyone in the place sang happy birthday to my Swedish friend, Martina. We’re getting to know the city as our own every day and night. We’re regulars at a few of our favorite bars and restaurants, earning free watermelon drinks from the cute bartender who says he doesn’t like his job, and an hour of wifi with a purchase at the local cafe when we used to only get 15 minutes. There’s Phoenix Pub, an Americanized restaurant (with what is arguably the world’s worst service) where we go when we need a break to eat nachos and watch American football, and then Cien Montanditos, where sandwiches are 50 cents on Mondays and a euro with a beer on Sundays and Wednesdays.

| At least they had one menu in English... |
It’s a bizarre feeling looking at Sevilla now compared to when I first arrived. It’s like comparing your first impression of a good friend with the person you now know them now to be, and realizing how incredibly different they are. So, Sevilla, after only a few weeks I must say thanks for the memories this far. I can’t wait to see what else is in store over the next two months.
